Installation Guidance

Anti-Slip Tapes and Treads should be applied to clean, dry and relatively smooth surfaces. Dusty, soiled and porous surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned and prepared with anti-slip floor primer to ensure the best adhesion and ultimately product longevity. Edge sealer is also recommended for best results to prevent water / chemical ingress.

Application is best carried out when the ambient temperature is above 10^oC. We recommend the use of a seam roller to apply even pressure to achieve the required 'tack' / initial adhesion. Products can be walked on immediately. Adhesive bond reaches full strength after 24 hours.

Our Tapes & Treads have good levels of conformability and can be applied to patterned / diamond tread surfaces and stair plates. A rubber mallet should be used to help form the tape to the surface.

Would these be suitable for & long-lasting on steps made from new wooden sleepers?

It's probably not an ideal solution for use on sleepers, even 'new' sleepers can be rough cut and they will absorb water and eventually damage the adhesive. As a short term solution they would be OK. For the best results anti-slip tapes and treads should be applied to smooth, dry & clean surfaces, and the use of primer on porous surfaces is recommended.

How thick are these & CAN YOU SCREW THEM DOWN

These are adhesive backed, not intended for screw fixing, But we have GRP strips, treads, nosings and sheets should you want to screw fix a more durable solution.

Hi can these be used on concrete stairs?

Yes, just make sure the concete is dry and clean. If there's any flaky previous coats of paint, this will need scraping back. And if the surface is porous, the use of primer would be best. Edge sealer will help prevent the ingress of water and increase the longevity to your installation.
