FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 are 'filtering performance classifications' providing different levels of wearer protection to EN149, with FFP3 offering the highest level of protection.

Disposable masks trap and hold airborne particles such as dust, mist, fume, smoke and micro-organisms from the air flowing through them. They do not provide protection from gases or vapours and half-mask or full face respirators with the appropriate filters should be used.

• FFP1 reduces exposure to airborne particles by a factor of 4
• FFP2 reduces exposure to airborne particles by a factor of 10
• FFP3 reduces exposure to airborne particles by a factor of 20
